BiCon for first timers

Never been to a BiCon before? Here's a rough idea of what to expect - don't forget to read the other pages about the programme and so forth as well though!

* BiCon is a long weekend of fun and frolics for bisexual people of all ages and genders, their friends, partners and allies. It includes all sorts of activities from discussion workshops and guest speakers to live music and discos.
* The UK BiCon has been held for seventeen years - BiCon 2000 will be the eighteenth such event. They have grown in that time from a small, one-day event hosted by London Bisexual Group to the huge sprawling monster we know and love today.
* BiCon 2000 will be held in Oak House of Manchester University, and depending on attendance we will be using some adjoining buildings too.
* It's Manchester Mardi Gras that weekend, and we hope you will have an opportunity to take in some of the festival without missing out on too much of BiCon itself.
* The venue is very compact and well served by public transport.
* Accomodation is totally self catering but don't panic as there are 3 supermarkets within about 10 minutes walk, and an assortment of takeaways within 5 minutes which stay open until around 5am.
* Most important - we have now incorporated the international BiCon IBC6 into the weekend. The original team behind IBC6 in the Netherlands had to cancel at relatively short notice, watch this space for more information.
